Green Party Elections!

Every year the Green Party holds internal elections for its governing Council.
Current Status
Voting period has begun. Eligible voters, you should have received an email or postcard in the mail with voting instructions. Read Elizabeth's Leadership Review Statement and learn about the candidates for Federal Council.
Voting ends at midnight PST on August 25th for the following positions:

  • President
  • Vice President French
  • Vice President English
  • Fund Representative / Treasurer
  • Newfoundland and Labrador representative
  • New Brunswick representative
  • Quebec representative
  • Manitoba representative
  • Alberta representative
  • Saskatchewan representative
  • Territories representative
Federal Council
Federal Council is the governing body of the Green Party of Canada. There are 18 voting members consisting of 11 provincial or territorial representatives, 1 President, 2 Vice-Presidents, 1 Fund Representative / Treasurer, 2 Youth representatives and the Leader.  Each Councilor is elected for two years.  Half of the positions are elected in odd numbered years, while the other half are elected in even years.
Council determines the party's strategic direction and spending priorities, establishes best practices, and helps with election readiness and fundraising.
