UNDECLARED PEANUTS IN CERTAIN GIOIA AND NUTKAO BRANDS OF NUT SPREADS FROM ITALY

A  public warning issued on November 6, 2009 has been expanded to include additional products.

Gioia and Nutkao brands of nut spreads imported from Italy may contain peanuts which are not declared on the label.

The following products manufactured by Nutkao srl, Italy are affected by this alert:

Products  are known to have been distributed in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec, and  may have been distributed nationally.

Although allergic reactions have been reported in Europe, there have been no reported illnesses in Canada associated with the consumption of these products.
